We serve our community and the environment by complying with our Sustainable Forest Management and Environmental Policy, our Standard Operating Procedures as defined in our Environmental Management System (EMS), and Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Standards.

Environmental Management System (EMS)

As required under our SFI Certification, One Sky Forest Products will have a comprehensive EMS in place to ensure the manufacturing of our oriented strand board (OSB) products meet the standards for the protection of the environment. The EMS applies to forestry operations within approved planned areas within One Sky’s Saskatchewan based operations on which it holds the management obligation, as well as areas from which it procures logs from external sources.  Standard Operating Procedures are described in our EMS Manual and include activities such as harvest planning and engineering, harvesting and transportation of logs, road and bridge construction, road maintenance and deactivation, temporary contractor camps and all post-harvest/silviculture operations.

Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Program

One Sky Forest Products will be certified through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Program. This program is composed of principles, objectives and performance measures designed to broaden the practice of sustainable forestry among participants. We provide an annual report to the SFI that allows the public to monitor our progress in achieving program objectives.
